The General Data Protection Regulation gives you a set of rights over the personal data you entrust to us. This page explains what they are and how to exercise them.
Last updated in August 2026
You can find out what data we hold about you, where it came from, what we use it for and who it has been disclosed to, and ask for a copy of that information.
If any data is wrong or incomplete, you can ask for it to be corrected at any time.
You can ask us to delete your data when it is no longer needed for the purpose that justified it and there is no legal obligation to keep it.
You can ask us to pause the use of your data while we check whether the information is accurate or while we review an objection you have raised.
You can receive the data you provided in a commonly readable format, or ask us to transmit it to another organisation where that is technically possible.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interest. We then stop processing the data, unless there are compelling grounds that override your objection or the data is needed for legal proceedings.
Write to geral@bwater.pt stating the right you wish to exercise. We may need to confirm your identity before proceeding, so that nobody can access your data on your behalf.
We reply within 30 days at most. If the request is complex, we tell you that an extension is needed and why. Exercising these rights is free of charge.
If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, the supervisory authority in Portugal.
Details about the data collected, the purposes, the retention periods and the technical providers involved are set out in the Privacy Policy.
